Analyst Intern
Position Overview
We are looking for a self-motivated individual who is excited by tackling big, global challenges. In this role, you will have the opportunity to build your expertise in issues and solutions related to the global digital divide. You will have a chance to analyze market trends, explore technological innovations, translate complex challenges and analysis into actionable recommendations for senior leaders around the world, without losing focus on advancing meaningful connectivity for underserved communities across the US and emerging markets.
You will perform meaningful research, data visualization, and support our project managers and subject matter experts with preservations, reports, proposals, publications, and more.
Job Responsibilities and Expectations
Financial Operations
Manage day-to-day business operations including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll processing.
Develop and maintain monthly financial reports including cash flow forecasting, level-of-effort tracking by employee, AR/AP aging, and margin analysis by client and employee.
Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and implement solutions.
Compliance & Administration
Ensure compliance across our portfolio of projects, which span government, nonprofit, and private-sector clients with varying requirements.
Manage benefits administration and insurance compliance.
Maintain operational documentation and internal policies.
Talent & Recruiting
Own recruiting processes as the team grows, including outreach to universities to build a pipeline of interns, recent graduates, and mid-career professionals.
Coordinate onboarding for new team members.
General
Research industry events and recommend where the firm should invest time and resources.
Support client meetings and workshops, including contributing to slides and deliverables as needed.
Ad hoc work as needed.
Compensation and Benefits
Compensation: $27.50/hr
Location: Remote-friendly with flexibility (see Note on Location below)
Required Qualifications
Background
You hold and/or are pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in computer science, GIS, data science, data analytics, international development, economics, telecommunications, project management, or a related field.
You have 0-2 years of relevant professional work experience, particularly in broadband deployment, digital opportunity, global digital development
You are a US citizen, or a non-US citizen lawfully admitted for permanent residence in the US.

Note on Location
We are a distributed, global team working primarily on the US East Coast (EST) time zone. While being located in the Washington, DC metro area would be beneficial, we provide our team with the flexibility to work remotely from other locations in the US, with limited stipulations:
